All these factors affect human populations but the least important, in terms of affecting future population size, is our increasing lifespan. This is not always easy to see, but basically people older than reproductive age (say 50 years) cannot affect future population growth because they will have no more babies. On the other hand, a small increase in childhood survival yields a lot more children who can themselves have a lot more children!
